AlbertStöckl (1823–1895) was a German Catholic theologian and philosopher known forhis contributions to Scholasticism. He served as a professor at the Universityof Eichstätt and wrote extensively on medieval philosophy, particularly theworks of Thomas Aquinas. Stöckl sought to reconcile faith and reason,emphasizing the importance of Aristotelian thought in Christian theology. Hismajor works include Lehrbuch der Philosophie (Textbook of Philosophy),which was influential in Catholic academic circles. Through his writings, heplayed a key role in the 19th-century revival of Scholastic philosophy.
