For sale: Nicca Type 3-S, serial number #70601 – a post-war Japanese copy of the Leica IIIB, produced in the late 1940s to early 1950s by Nicca Camera Works (later known as Yashica).
This camera has undergone a full CLA service (Clean, Lubricate, Adjust), including:
• installation of a new shutter curtain made of high-quality Japanese fabric,
• thorough cleaning and lubrication of all key mechanisms,
• calibration of the rangefinder and flange focal distance,
• detailed inspection of shutter operation and mechanical performance.
Inspection results:
• Shutter tested electronically – all fast speeds within tolerance; 1/500 slightly slower, typical for cameras of this age,
• Slow-speed unit functions properly,
• Viewfinder is clear, with a bright and well-defined rangefinder patch,
• Minor cosmetic signs of use on the body, no impact on operation.
It appears that the camera may have been serviced or opened in the past – two small screws securing the accessory shoe are missing. This has no effect on functionality, and no other signs of prior interference were found. Everything was thoroughly checked during the recent service.
The camera was carefully inspected during servicing and will be rechecked before shipment.
Please note that vintage mechanical cameras of this type require regular maintenance and care.
A great option for those seeking a classic rangefinder to shoot with, rather than just a display piece.
The lens shown in the photos is not included and is sold separately.
